Yusha Charles

Yusha Charles is a Senior Researcher at CEME and a Cairo-based Journalist with over 15 years of experience in the Cultural Economy of the Middle East. His work is rooted in the cross-over between economics and the creative industries, and he has worked with multiple governments throughout the region in the development of radio, festivals, and music journalism. 

Yusha is an expert on the independent arts sectors of the Middle East, and has spent many years fostering personal connections with the key operators of the MENA region. His work at CEME focuses particularly on the electronic dance music scene in Cairo. He is an internationally published researcher, and recently established the desk for UAE at Enterprise, becoming a Senior Editor for trade and business. 

Yusha holds a Masters degree in Middle Eastern History from Manchester Metropolitan University.
