Reem Khedr is Director of the Yousef Jameel Public Leadership Programme at the American University in Cairo (AUC) and a Researcher at CEME. She was a Youssef Jameel fellow herself where she studied for her Master of Public Administration (MPA) with a concentration in the development and management of non-profit organizations. She has recently carried out an in-depth study into barriers for growth and employment faced by independent cultural practitioners in Cairo.

Reem has accumulated 11+ years of experience with non-profit organizations, including the Goethe-Institut and Save the Children.  She has worked at the US State Department funded Tomorrow's Leaders Programs at AUC and she has also worked at Mahatat for contemporary arts. 

Reem was a Lazord fellow with John D. Gerhart Center for Philanthropy and Civic Engagement in 2012-2013. She is also a LEAD AUC 2011 alumna, and holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Sociology.
